Hey there! I’m Kandice, the cookie artist behind Makay Sweets. I am a wife, stay at home momma, cookie maker, and lover of custom and unique designs and themes. I also have a passion for creating DIY printable templates for all of life's celebrations, home decor and cookie packaging.

In 2014, my mom, sisters and I joined forces for our first ever Christmas baking day where we created delicious treats and attempted to create sugar cookie masterpieces with royal icing. We were ready, excited and ambitious to decorate the cookies that were 'too pretty to eat' and Pinterest-worthy. Unfortunately, we were a little naive as well (ha!) and I can
confidently say that we did not succeed in 2014. However, we made Christmas cookie decorating a tradition each year, and we definitely improved with each attempt!
In 2019, I finally nailed the perfect sugar cookie recipe and icing consistencies and the "Those are too pretty to eat!" comments that we had spent years longing to hear came flooding in on our social media posts. The encouragement was overwhelming and gave us all the feels!
It was at that moment that I realized that I enjoyed being a cookier way too much to just do once a year at Christmas time and I started to have the confidence to dive in to the cookie world.

I am so thrilled and grateful to able to be a small part of people’s special occasions through cookie art. My only hope is that my custom themes and designs will bring as much joy to people as baking and decorating them does for me.
